Assistant Professor at the University of Los Andes, Colombia. Architect from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil and two Masters’ degrees in Architectural History from Université Paris 1 and Criticism of the Contemporary Culture from Université Paris 8, France. Quintana’s work has been recognised with various awards, including the Scott Opler Fellowship (SAH, 2018 and 2020), the Prix de La Recherche Patiente (Fondation Le Corbusier, 2016), the Prêmio Destaque USP (2017), the Docomomo International Scholarship (2020) and the Honor Distinction at the Bienal Iberoamericana de Quito (2018 and 2020) and Bienal Colombiana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (2020). Currently she is a member of the research team Formas de la Producción en Arquitectura and cocurates the project Bauhaus Reverberada: una serie de eventos sobre Bauhaus y América Latina.

María Cecilia’s work has been international recognised with various grants, including the Bourse Jeune Cherchuer (Fondation Le Corbusier, 2003), and several awards, including the Bienal Colombiana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, as curator of the exhibitions “Le Corbusier en Bogotá” (2010) and “Casa + Casa + casa= ¿ciudad? Germán Samper: una investigación en Vivienda” (2012). She has been keynote speaker in international conferences in Brazil, Ecuador and Spain, amongst other countries.
