Journal ownership and governance
Ownership
The journal VLC Arquitectura. Research Journal is an academic publication dedicated to the dissemination of scientific research in the field of Architecture. Its ownership and governance structure are designed to ensure editorial independence and transparency in management.
The creation of the journal was an initiative of the aforementioned institution, which acts as the publishing entity responsible for its strategic development and is recognized as the owner of the title and assigned ISSN.
The ownership of the journal does not interfere with editorial decisions, guaranteeing the academic and scientific freedom of its authors, reviewers, and editors. The intellectual property of the published content belongs to the authors, who assign the first public communication to the journal.
The UPV is a Spanish public academic institution, and among the services it provides is the publication of scientific journals. The selection and operation of these journals is governed by the UPV Scientific Journal Regulations and is specified in a contract signed by the interested parties (the responsible institution and the UPV institution providing the service), which establishes the time frame and the commitments made by each party. Thus understood, the journal complies with the UPV Scientific Journal Regulations and undertakes to maintain the criteria established therein, both in its organizational structure and its operation.
The Polytechnic University of Valencia is the technical publisher of the journal, as indicated in the ISSN and in all databases where the journal is indexed.
Governance
The journal's governance is exercised through the structure described in the Editorial Team section and aims to establish the journal's strategy, coordinate and oversee its proper functioning, and ensure its smooth operation under the principles of scientific integrity.
Transparency and Accountability
The journal operates under an open access policy/Creative Commons license (Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) License) and is committed to providing clear information about its publication criteria, funding, and any commercial or institutional relationships that may influence its content.
Any changes in the ownership or governance structure will be communicated to authors, reviewers, and readers to maintain the trust and integrity of the journal.
