Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by two external reviewers, following a double-blind peer-review process.
Once the editorial team has checked that the manuscript follows the formatting guidelines, it is sent to the reviewers. The purpose of this peer review is not only to assist the Editor-in-Chief in making decisions whether to accept or reject the manuscript but also to assist the author in improving the manuscript. Final acceptance is based on originality, significance and form of presentation. The Editor-in-Chief will communicate the overall result of the evaluation (i.e. rejected, accepted or accepted with modifications) to the corresponding author, including the reviewers' comments. If the manuscript has been accepted with modifications, authors must submit a new version of the article, which will be reviewed again by the same reviewers. Moreover, authors must attach a letter to the Editor-in-Chief, indicating the modifications made in the article according to the reviewers' comments.
The review process may take one to two months.
