Approaches to the archaeological landscape in the South American lowlands: a GIS study in the northeast of Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Naiquen M. Ghiani Echenique is an anthropologist and Dr. in Natural Sciences at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, National University of La Plata (Argentina). In this institution she integrates the Ceramics Analysis Laboratory as a postdoctoral scholar of National Council of Science and Technological Research. Her research is linked to topics like archaeological landscape, hunter-gatherers´ practices, social interaction and ceramics technology.

Andrés Jakel is an anthropologist and Dr. in Natural Sciences at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, National University of La Plata (Argentina). Specialist in landscape anthropology and archaeology, and the use of GIS and remote sensing resources. For the last ten years he has conducted research on Andean pastoralist communities in northwestern Argentina, with funding from various institutions, and has published in several scientific journals.
